How do the gas phases move relative to each other?

Our results are consistent with a picture of the circumgalactic medium (CGM) that includes multiphase clouds containing small clumps of cool gas within hotter, more diffuse gas. This gas is moving toward us at about 50 km/s and shows a velocity gradient across the galactic plane.
